Cullen and Fraumeni Award Nominations

ASPO is now accepting nominations for its top awards – The Joseph W. Cullen Memorial Award and the Joseph F. Fraumeni, Jr. Distinguished Achievement Award. The Joseph W. Cullen Memorial Award was created in honor of Dr. Cullen's unparalleled contributions to tobacco control. Awardees demonstrate distinguished achievement in tobacco control efforts through research, the development of prevention and cessation programs with wide-reaching public health impact, or through public policy and advocacy initiatives. Furthermore the Cullen Award honors individuals whose leadership, like Dr. Cullen’s, exemplifies a commitment to fostering collaboration among the wide network of scientists, health care professionals, and public health advocates involved in the fight against tobacco and tobacco-related disease. The Joseph F. Fraumeni, Jr. Distinguished Achievement Award is given annually to an outstanding scientist in the area of preventive oncology, cancer control and/or cancer prevention. This Awardee has made substantial research contributions of depth and breadth. In the evaluation process, consideration also is given to contributions by the Awardee to ASPO. The award was renamed for Dr. Fraumeni in 2016. The awardees will present at ASPO’s 2027 Annual Meeting - April 11-13, 2027 in Atlanta, Georgia.
